Our client briefed us on the requirement for a major overhaul and enhancement of their consumer facing Find a Pet site which provides a route for consumers to find a specific puppy or kitten as well as being a valuable resource of information. The website is automatically updated from information that a network of recognised breeders input into their own extranet, called petplanbreeder.co.uk, to advertise their litters. Improved usability, SEO and providing consumers with excellent access to valuable and authoritative information were required.
Having won the pitch we set about bringing the site up-to-date with the refreshed Petplan branding and to further increase the traffic to the site by improving user experience and SERPs. To achieve these objectives we built the site with the latest technology and also ensured that it was optimised for search engines whilst delivering ease of navigation for the user. We created our design based on the up-to-date brand guidelines to ensure the site was in line with our other Petplan websites.
The new website went live in February 2014 and quickly increased its traffic by 500%, with a peak of 2480% when comparing the first 3 months of traffic with the same months of the previous year. Our client and ourselves are equally ‘over the moon’ with these results and its on-going progression. The new website delivers an excellent user experience and service to help bring puppies and kittens to a new home. In September 2014 the website won the prestigous 'Cogs Award - Digital Online' from the Institute of Promotional Marketing.
