Being a wedding venue in Surrey is an extremely competitive market for PPC marketing. We were briefed to improve the overall natural rankings to create traffic via the non-paid search route. Organic search for this type of industry is also extremely tough as you are competing with not only other wedding venues and local results but wedding venue directories that have very high domain authorities. Before the SEO campaign thanks to the site being built by us and therefore fully optimised for natural indexing, ranking positions on Google were mainly on the top 5 pages which was a great start.
Initial optimisation was carried out to kick start the campaign, which ensured that all SEO hygiene factors were in place. SEO activity was then carried out on a regular basis, we added pages filled with quality content to increase our chances of ranking for some of the keywords we were tracking. We also kept the freshness of the website by writing blogs on a regular basis that were informative and interesting for the users to read. Competitors were reviewed for any missed opportunities and from this we found a number of sites that we approached for links.
Rankings for this campaign can be very changeable but in the last few months we have started to see some stability in the rankings and we are now on page 1 for 11 keywords and 6 of these are in the top 3 results. Due to this enquiries made about the venue have significantly increased and we are continuing to work on this campaign to maintain and further the ranking positions we currently hold on Google.
