In response to a recent request for proposal (RFP) the team has been working on a new website design pitch for a large household name over the last few weeks.
Read below for a brief summary of some of the areas covered.
This has kept us busy whilst making all those hours we spend looking at User Experience, Information Architecture and the latest front end designs all worthwhile. On projects like these we get to extend our skills, try out new ideas and brainstorm with our colleagues learning from each other as we bounce ideas around and see what sticks.
This particular project started with an in-depth look at the analytics for the site, this time provided by Google. From looking at how the existing site had been used and found by users we were able to learn a lot about its strengths and weaknesses including the basic starting points such as where people were spending their time and where they were exiting. With careful comparison with the clients brief we have been able to make some recommendations fundamental to the success of the new website.
Having worked through the research and detailed the specifications for the new website build, we are currently working on the website design concepts and are pleased with how progress is going there. All the time we spent on the specifications and wireframes at the start of the project is paying off, making the creative stage straightforward and giving us some exciting ideas to share when we present.
Later this week the website page designs will be mounted and the laptop loaded with our proposal covering web marketing, support and hosting aspects. Fingers crossed!
