Mitchells are part of the renowned Turner group of companies specialising in diesel engines and transmissions. Our brief was to improve their online presence through SEO as their current ranking positions were largely on pages 3-5 of Google or not in the top 50 results. Many of their keywords were products that they supply and service which meant the competition was high as we had to compete with other companies selling these brands as well as the brand websites themselves.
First we carried out an initial optimisation which ensured that all SEO best practice components were in place such as correcting any crawl errors and ensuring the pages used the correct headings which included keywords. We then looked at competitors’ backlinks to find any link building opportunities and ensured that internal links with optimised anchor text were used when appropriate. This was to help Google and the users around the site. A blog was added to by the client which we then went and optimised further to ensure this fresh content was given the best chance possible to rank.
This SEO campaign has made a significant impact on the amount of traffic to their site. They now have 23.36% more unique visits than they did at the very start of the campaign. This is down to their improved ranking positions on Google. They now rank for 23 different keywords on page 1 and 13 of these are in the top 3. They have recently added further keywords that they would like to rank for and we are now working on these.
