Our client has a lot of customers interested to hear about the latest news and events in their niche area and as part of an overall marketing communications strategy a schedule of regular emails was required to ensure that the brand was communicating regularly with engaging and relevant content in a authoritative yet friendly tone. Our client looked into using Mail Chimp but quickly decided that there was an overhead in knowledge and a steep learning curve and so spoke to us about our solution.
We proposed that our client used our agency email offering which is very similar to Mail Chimp but that we support and set-up for our clients to make life easy. We do this by creating specific templates for the client to be used for specific types of email. For this client they needed one for regular monthly news emails and another for special product announcements. We also built in a certain amount of flexibility and options so that the client has some control over elements and can vary the templates. The important task for us was to ensure that the templates were robust and tested in a wide range of email clients. Our final step was for face to face training with the client (with telephone support available).
After the first email sent by the client we were receiving praise as to how easy the system was and how excellent and insightful the reporting was. With many other considerations taken care of such as unsubscribes and social media sharing, the client could focus on developing the content rather than the technical aspects of sending out an email.
