The new website would also have a database driven wizard to guide users through a tool selection process which meant that highly technical information needed to be easily updated. Another major requirement for the new website for Torqueleader was for the marketing team to be able to manage all of the content and updates.
To ensure that our proposal would cover all the new requirements including client control of all frequent updates, we first sat down and listed everything that we had to deal with. We developed a plan to ensure that all of the clients needs could be covered by the Content Management System (CMS) that we use whilst ensuring that it was straightforward and usable. During the development phase we liaised with the client and sought feedback for how friendly the content was to update so that we ended up with the right solution first time.
We provided initial training on the CMS prior to the new website launch and in the training session it was clear that the client was delighted how easy everything was to update. There would be no need to log in to separate areas, navigate through complicated structures, use any 3rd party tools such as FTP or update database content directly. With the option to edit directly from the front end via a secure admin area we had everything covered. Since the launch of the website there have been minimal queries from the client and all of these have been quickly and easily dealt with. The result for the agency is that we have subsequently developed further international websites for this client (our CMS works in lots of different languages!)
