5 Steps to Setting up a Social Media Campaign – Part 2
 

Following on from ‘5 Steps to Setting up a Social Media Campaign – Part 1’ this blog completes the steps to setting up a social media campaign for GW Games.

4. Competition

To increase our reach quickly, we decided that a Facebook competition would be the best way to do this. Our competition would be to choose one of the three names we shortlisted for the Sense of Identity ‘Mystery Character’ – the face of the SOI game. To reduce any barriers to participation, we decided to ask for entrants’ opinions on three names – Jack, Austin and Ernest. Therefore all entrants qualify for the prize draw which encourages entries further. The prize is to win one of ten delicious packages of snacks and drinks with a Bodum jug and nacho bowl and of course the Sense of Identity Game.  We positioned this as ‘Win a night in with Sense of Identity’.  We are currently running this competition on Facebook using an app and it hasbeen very successful so far. A great bonus of this competition is that we have received many email opt-ins for further information about GW Games which is very positive.

 

5. Post-Launch Plan

Going forward after the competition, we will evaluate the success of the competition and generate further content out of the competition activity to keep the social media channels active. For the people who opted in we will keep them up to date with information about the game.
